Having a Korean wife, living in Marina Del Rey and being totally obsessed with Korean food -- I've turned to Wharo as a place I eat more than my own dining room. The food is totally authentic - actually better pan-chan than what you find in Koreatown. The atmosphere is top notch. Unlike the greasy, smoky pits in K-town, Wharo has much more of a W Hotel feel. The kalbi Wharo serves is top-grade beef, not some of the lower grade meat (hidden by over-marination) that BBQ joints in K town use. Prices are totally fair -- One entree (a chigaeo or bimbimbap) plus one order of Kalbi will easily feed two people and will only set you back $30.
