The ""new"" owners of The Pie, Joe and Jim, have kept one of my favorite places in Raleigh open and that is thanks enough.
However, the glow of the status quo was not enough to take my mind off the horrible service my group received. It became readily apparent that the hipster waitstaff that is the Pie's trademark and one of its benefits, is also a drawback. Go there when the staff is in the weeds and witness that hallmark of our generation: the Gen-X snotty attitude.
That unpleasantness aside, the food still kicks, but we all miss the old chef(s).
Oh, and by the way, you can catch some great bands during the week, while soaking up the atmosphere, vodka and pretty males and females.
Go. Now. Just be wary not to irk the staff.
Pros: hipster owners, substance, still there
Cons: hipster staff, ashley's gone, unknown
