If you're a tourist and you're going to Boston's North End for the first time I wouldn't go here. Although the food at La Famiglia Georgio's may be a bit better, and more appropriately priced than the restaurants on touristy Hanover street, you miss out in the ambience and people watching.
La Famiglia's is a great middle-of-the-week restaurant for locals. The food is great, but the ambience and the service are no where to be found. The dining room has bad acoustics and can get very loud and the servers could care less if you'd like more bread or need a new fork.
I had the linguni with the Fra Diavolo sauce. It was wonderful. The pasta tastes homemade. The portions are enormous. The meatballs are like your Mom's. The food makes up for where this restaurant lacks in other areas.
