The Knit NY concept is so simple, you can't believe nobody thought of it before: a cafe and a yarn store! You can buy yarn *and* hang out *and* knit *and* have an iced coffee. However, there is not enough room to display yarns and have many tables: how can you see yarn when someone is sitting right in front of it?! Are you supposed to ask them to stand up and move? What about when it's a knitting class? Another major, major drawback to Knit NY is the people who work there. You can yell, jump up and down and they will not notice. They are too cool for school. But I like the yarns! Ooh, the selection is delightful! The owner is very careful to pick yarns that are not found anywhere else, but also carries Manos de Uruguay, Cascade 220 and Koigu.
Pros: unusual yarns, cafe!
Cons: snotty salespersons, cramped, high prices
