Z'Tejas is a great Austin restaurant with southern-tex-mex style food. Very inventive, flavorful dishes, good service, with a southwest flair. This location is mostly populated with yuppie families and groups of thirty-somethings.
Two gripes: the wait at this restaurant is ridiculous any night of the week, especially weekends. Make a reservation if you can. I also greatly prefer it for lunch, because at dinner this is possibly the noisiest restaurant in Austin. Ask to get seated in the lower side or rear patio if you dislike noise. It really gets unbelievably loud, I actually would not recommend bringing small children here because of that, and it's not a good first date place either because of that.
Hint: inexplicably, they recently removed their great chicken-fried-chicken from the menu, but you can still order it.
Pros: Original dishes
Cons: Loud, Not great value
