I've been to the aquarium a couple of times and love it more each time. It's located at the waterfront and part of it is actually in the ocean. It's modern and clean and gives you really great access to the animals. You can pet rays and touch and feel all sorts of other things. The bookstore/gift shop is filled with really neat things; it's definitely NOT a junky tourist trap. It's not cheap to go to the Aquarium, but I think the price is well worth it. Bring the kids; they will love it.
