I heard a lot about this place before I dined there last night with my husband. The service was good, but the food was less than mediocre. We started with hot and sour soup. It was drowned in black pepper, which really muted the other flavors that one expects from a good bowl of this soup. For our main courses, we had the sweet & sour prawns and chicken w/ sizzling rice. Both were unexceptional. I don't understand why people consider this an institution. Maybe this place was something back in the day, but now it just seems to be riding entirely on its reputation. You couldn't pay me to eat there again!
Pros: decent service
Cons: really bad food, dated decor
