A small ""mom & pop"" place at the intersection of Marconi and Watt-- I personally hate the proliferation of the mega, super-trendy sushi places in Sacramento (aka. Mikuni, Nishiki, etc.) . For starters, I hate eating rolls filled with cream cheese that are drenched in ""special sauce"".
If you feel the same as me, you'll appreciate Nagato's, where the food is definitely solid and a wide range of fish is available. Don, one of the sushi chefs, has mentioned that from time to time, even Toro is available upon request.
Pros: Not Mikuni., Friendly service., Loyal clientele.
Cons: Not open Mondays., Small sushi bar.
