Tasty and friendly but not what you'd expect 11/12/2005

My group of ten was promptly seated in the dining room that has white, bare, institutional walls. The server was kind, despite never asking me if I wanted anything to drink. However, they don't serve alcohol, so I was fine with water. Half-price chicken night sounded pretty neat until my vindaloo arrived. I've eaten vindaloo at a million places before, and it's normally very spicy -- the kind of spicy that makes your ears hurt, sometimes. But, a 6.5 on the Indian Oven spicy scale equates to the heat of a glass of water. There was hardly any flavor, no heat to speak of, and the portion was tiny. Other than that, the samosas were good, and so were the naan and raita. But, don't bother going to Indian Oven if you like your food to have flavor or heat. Pros: Kind waitstaff, Good appetizers/sides Cons: Poor curry quality, No alcohol, Poor service more
