Knitcraft, located in the old area of downtown Independence, was around long before the current knitting craze, and it does show. But for what this shop lacks in hipness, it makes up for it with helpful staff who show sincere interest in a customer's projects and questions. It does have a good yarn selection (better than, say, Urban Arts and Crafts, but not as expansive as the Studio's), though it does have more synthetics than some of the other shops carry. They offer a frequent buyer program and are the only shop in the area to carry the Denise Interchangeable Needle kit.
