There are many cage-free day care and boarding facilities in the Los Angeles area, and I visited a number of them before settling on Doggie Central. Their location is great- right off of the 405. Doggie Central conducted an interview to be sure that our dog was comfortable with the other dogs. When I visited, it was clear that some of the dogs were highly bonded with one of the attendants, which would not happen at a place with high turnover or overworked, inexperienced, uncaring staff. At night, the dogs who stay get beds and blankets to sleep on. An attendant stays overnight with the dogs- not always the case everywhere, as I found. Our little dog was able to cuddle with some of the older, bigger dogs at night, and with her neurotic personality, we knew this meant that she felt at ease there. The building is clean and bright, with outdoor areas for bathroom breaks, plenty of toys and constant access to water. There are seperate areas for big and little dogs, and the rubberized floor
