This Barnes & Noble is a bit away from the central shopping district of Modesto. Being the only B&N it is frequently crowded but they have a wonderful Saturday Program for the kids and the attached Starbucks is a nice addition (also very crowded). It is a great place to be on a rainy afternoon. No one bothers you. You can read there all afternoon if you wish. The employees seem to really like books, too. The checkout line can get a bit long on the weekends and of course, during the holiday season but that is to be expected.
