As recent Midwest tranplants we are on a quest to visit every good restaurant in LA. Sunday we took advantage of the 3 course prix fixe menu at Lucques. We were impressed on all counts - food, service, ambience. We started with a glaas of Aracdia Chardonnay and munched on the almonds, Tuscan olives and fresh bread.
The mixed bitter green salad with pomegranites, toasted walnuts and warm goat cheese was topped with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Excellent!
The entre choices were a grilled pomfret w/ squash risotto and veal scallopini w/ corn polenta. The veal was light, crispy and moist and I enjoyed every bite. The corn polenta provided a tasty complement.
Dessert was a simple apple bread pudding made special with a tiny carafe of cream on the side.
It's amazing what can be done with fresh ingredients and a little creativity!
