I am surprised to read some of the negative feedback about Carlsbad. I guess I have been fortunate in my near dozen visits. I always bring my out-of-town guests there. I have found their Southwestern menu to be fantastic and the service to have a neighborhood-like feel to it. Its far from the usual cookie cutter restaurant-in-a-box. Their burgers are cooked on a high heat grill which gives them that charbroiled shell while respecting the tender medium rare pink that I prefer. If you have guts you should try their Habanero Cheeseburger which is like a culinary amusement park ride (it comes with a glass of milk to help mend the pallet). I highly recommend Carlsbad for those looking for a unique menu, fair prices, and great tastes.
