The emphasis here is on the smoke. The sauce is optional sitting on each table in three different styles, and for me this is great because I like to taste the smoke and meat...not just the sauce. As for the sides--standard slaw, spicy collards, tangy beans and CRUNCHY kettle chips. Don't be deterred by little street parking. Head around back where there's plenty available. I recommend hitting the joint early if you can. The staff here is always pleasant and accommodating. I've been eating here for years and in 2008...it's still great.
