I enjoy visiting the Gateway. There are a lot of good stores, like Abercrombie, as well as the movie theater and restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen. The outdoor idea is fun except for in the winter. It also could use some more entertainment, like the Desert Ridge mall in Phoenix. If you avoid the parking lot, you're good to go. I take Trax sometimes, but if you live in the south end of the valley, it's only worth the trip on special occassions.
