Midwesterners tend to mix quality and quantity in reviews. Yes, Buca makes large portions. Yes, they pack you in. Yes, you are spoon fed the idea that a restaurant like this is representive of Authentic Italian Cuisine. Yes, you are misled. I've had better spaghetti out of a Chef Boyardee can. I don't see handmade pastas, ravioli's, etc. I see pre-made varieties...and that is what American food is all about. You get what you pay for...cheap large quantities of pasta. Europeans don't feast like it's the last meal before a hanging...they feast on small portions that are hand-made with care and have wine and talk (not loudly, just talk) well into the evening (starting around 9ish). If you want a McDonalds experience, go to Buca. If you want an authentic Italian experience, go New York, Chicago and find a restaurant that does not advertise to the masses. Pros: Lots of food Cons: Lots of bad food more
