Best ribs and brisket in the U.S. 9/15/2003

1) I am a long-haul over-the-road 18 wheeler truck driver and have been all over the U.S. Trust me: when comparing food alone (i.e., not considering ambience) with the possible exception of Ruth Chris' Steakhouse in Nashville, Tennessee, there is no better food. Most people go to Dr. Hogly Wogly's for the pork ribs, but inasmuch as they allow two entrees, recommend you also get the beef brisket. It too is to die for. 2) There is a place that is a close second, but you""ll have to drive to Kilgore, Texas to try it. It is the Ranch House (just over the county line because Kilgore has a dry county.). [And...if you have gone to this much trouble: to go to Texas for ribs, don't drink Lone Star beer there, instead drink Steiner beer--it is by far the best Texas beer!]. Pros: Pork ribs & brisket Cons: Crowded--but worth it more
