The last time I visited this eatery (3 years ago), I was so impressed by the collection of funky sounding hot sauces and by the really good fried green tomatoes. I went there recently, disappointed that the fried green tomatoes were long gone and worse yet, the new menu just wouldn't make any Southern Mamma proud. I had some gumbo and jambalaya which lacked the spice and the oomph that keep them New Orleans people smiling all day. The gumbo was just plain bland. The only thing I could taste was the andouille sausage. I think people keep coming back to this place because of the location and maybe good memories from the past. Or maybe it's a place to take your tourist friends so that they get a little taste of what a hot sauce heaven would look like.
Pros: location, prompt seating
Cons: it aint cajun
