People seem to forget that the OBX doesn't stop at Ocracoke. If you really wanna get away from it all you should try Core Banks or Shackleford Banks just south of Ocracoke Island. Hate traffic? This is the place for you. There are no roads. And forget high priced restaurants, because there aren't any of those either. This is true beach living. Water, sand and sun and the occasional seagull. This is life at it's best!

Cons: Far from civilization, but since when did, that become a con?
