For someone who's lived in Italy and loves Neapolitan cooking, I can say authoritatively that Frank & John is the ONLY place on this side of the Atlantic where I will go out to eat Italian food. This restaurant is the lone shining beacon in a sea of otherwise inferior, pretentious, and overly Americanized ""Italian"" restaurants (Federal Hill, North End included) that are completely out of touch with real native food. You won't find any culinary-school ""visionaries"" or profiteering wanna-bes hanging around. Everything about F&J, including the Neapolitan family who runs it, is positively top-notch and pleasantly down to earth.
