Most people consider Guiseppe's one of the best Italian restaurants in Lexington. I'm not sure I agree. I have eaten there 3-4 times and I find it to be just average.
The location is nice. Surrounded by trees in a cute little building.
The decor, however, is uninspired and the paint colors would be offensive if the place weren't so dark.
The food is very good. The menu has all the Italian standards plus a few creative dishes.
I do have a problem with the service though. I have only had great service one time. My other experiences have not been as satisfying. The servers did not know the menu or were slow and seemed not to care.
So, to sum up, Guiseppe's has good food and a good out of the way location. But, they need to pay a little more attention to the details of service and ambiance.
