With immaculately manicured grounds, a complete, on-premises chefs garden, and tables almost in the vineyards, John Ash Restaurant provides an idyllic setting for fabulous Wine Country dining. The menu is neither innovative, nor trendy, but simply centers on excellently executed dishes prepared with the freshest local, seasonal products. Selections include appetizers like Crab and Corn Chowder and Beet Salad with Goat Cheese, and entrees from Grilled Chicken Breast with Polenta and Crab Cakes with Chili Aioli to Roast Pork Loin with Port Sauce. Desserts range from waist-friendly fresh, seasonal berries to the indulgent Raspberry Chocolate Meltdown. While the overall wine list is somewhat limited in scope, it includes an excellent selection of half bottles so diners can select an appropriate pairing for each course. Knowledgeable servers are friendly and attentive. While not inexpensive (lunch for two with wine $200), John Ash is arguably one of the best restaurants in Sonoma.
Pros: Fresh ingredients, Good execution, Good parking
Cons: Expensive
