Dashi is one of those neighborhood sushi bars tucked into an out-of-the-way (for all but Sun Microsystems employees) strip mall at the crossroads of some major highways. The ambiance inside (warm) does not quite match that of the ambiance outside (a fast food/gas station melange). That being said, the food is quite tasty. The fish is always fresh and the waiters are attentive. Standards like maguro, saki, and hamachi nigiri stand out, as well as some innovative rolls (the Dashi house roll is a must), but try some of their more traditional foods too, like steamed salmon in a dashi bonito-infused broth with ground pepper, onions, and mushrooms. Little free extras (like sashimi salad) occasionally pop up if you show up for dinner.
Pros: Tasty Food, Excellent Service, Easy to get to
Cons: Strip Mall Ambiance
