If the old Soviet-style menus don't give you a taste of Russian, something else in this restaurant will. There are plenty of excellent, authentic Russian dishes, as well as a few clichés. The service is also authentic, in that the staff is just as inattentive as they would be in Russia. However, the food and the atmosphere are so nice that you hardly notice. My crawfish in garlic sauce were excellent. The Martini, however, left a lot to be desired. (Pravda retains its claim to the best martinis in NY) Despite its location, the Russian Vodka Room is surprisingly inexpensive. Five entrees and four drinks cost us about $100. Overall, I recommend it and will be returning.
Pros: Good Atmosphere, Great Food
Cons: Service not great
