The Hawthorne location has become an island of relief from the sea of ordinary food on my way home from a busy day. The soups, served in gigantic, shallow bowls are simple yet complex and rich with varying textures and flavors. Try the Curried chicken in a coconut milk broth or the chewy mushroom barley or to-die-for-creamy potato leek. Each one does its own unique dance on the tongue! The cilantro/yogurt pasta was a pleasant surprise and I've been unable to re-create the delicate flavors at home. The No-Fish sandwiches are actually a cornmeal (?) batter that is poured into a fish-shaped form, then stuffed with your choice of fillings. I've found most of them to be a little on the bland side, although there are still many combinations I've yet to try. Give this place a try, and you'll be won over by the food - I promise!
Pros: Not crowded, Open late, Good Service
Cons: Long wait for food
