Something as simple as ham and swiss cheese on a croissant is elevated to something special at Le Pain Quotidien. It's all in the ingredients -- the most subtle and succulent ham you've ever tasted and a blanket of savory melted swiss, decked out on a soft, fresh croissant. Don't skip dessert. With an array of treats to choose from, it was a plate-sized chocolate chip cookie that called my name. It was thin and crisp and wonderful. It's not cheap (about $20 for lunch), but it's worth it.
