Having been to several different resorts including Breckenridge, Keystone, and Winter Park I must say Aspen easily takes top honors. The editorial review is incorrect in that Aspen does offer beginner terrain on its other mountains (Snowmass, Buttermilk). However, those desiring more challenging runs will find home at Ajax (Aspen Mountain) or Aspen Highlands. Both of these mountains feature great runs that are long and steep. The blacks at Ajax and the Highlands put those at other resorts to shame.
In addition to the great skiing there is also great shopping and nightlife. The views are amazing and the town is picturesque. Aspen also has smaller lines (although still long!) due to its distance from Denver. Aspen/Snowmass is the most expensive resort I have been to, but if you have the money, there's no better place to spend it.
Pros: great skiing, shopping/nightlife
Cons: expense
