Peter Gilmore's restaurant reminds me of a place that just opened. Overall, the food is excellent but it's some of the little things that need work. First, the portions are inconsistent. In the traditional French style, they should be small. The wait staff is inconsistent as well. Some are knowledgeable, attentive and polite. Others are inattentive and brash. Also, the lighting and music selection could be toned down to create a better ambiance.
Although it can be difficult getting a reservation, being a BYOB makes this restaurant attractive. One of waiters has a keen eye for good wine and supplies the appropriate glasses. The decor is tastefully done.
Overall, Gilmore's has a great foundation with alot of potential. I'll try it again in a few months to see if there is any improvement.
