The new house specialties are as good or better than the fare at Pop's, Southern Seasons, Elaine's - at a fraction of the cost. Specifically try the gnocci (best I've had in Durham, Chapel Hill or Charlotte), salmon (unbelievably good with an incredibly complex flavor mix) and the crab cakes (just the right amount of spice) - all under $10. How they are doing what they do at such a low price is a mystery. The new owner's previous training at Masa's in SF is shining through with these new additions to the menu. Go for dinner (although the menu is available all day) soon before it gets as busy after dark as it is at lunch. Oh yeah, the desserts are great and the cakes are my most consistently appreciated presents.
