Rain or shine, Pioneer Square is where I start my sightseeing tours when guests are in town. Easy to get to via Max, it's a rare display of civic art and functionality combined, and full of hidden treats. You can always find ""colorful"" personalities hanging around (not to mention watching some of the hottest street chess games this side of New York). Throw in the fact that there's probably a concert or festival (or protest) going on, and it's always interesting.
Pros: centrally located, open air, anything goes
Cons: anything goes
