Now that I've entered my thirtysomething years, I have to admit that my musical tastes have mellowed somewhat. Nevertheless, I still enjoy going the the local record shop and rubbing elbows with the kiddies. And Rolling Stones Records is one of my favorite places to do that. The atmosphere is very much ""independent record shop"" However, the quality of the selection is hit and miss. For many older musical groups, the selection consists of maybe the 3 most popular albums plus a greatest hits compilation. For newer music, the selection is much better (of course). Best of all, they have a very good selection of music dvd's. The only downside to this shop is that it's located in a dying neighborhood (my opinion), and it's located next to Harlem-Irving Plaza--a lousy excuse for a mall.
Pros: anti-chain atmosphere, reasonable prices
Cons: location
