What a pleasure to find a place brave enough to break out of the Twin Cities' Don-Pablo's-Mold for ""Mexican"" food and serve dishes more bold, tasty, and true to form. Step into El Loro and you feel as though you've stepped into Mexico. There aren't many frills in El Loro's decor - which in my opinion adds to its charm and feeling of authenticity. They've got an expansive menu - we had to ask our attentive waiter to come back 3 times just so we could be sure we hadn't missed anything. My beef burrito platter was a generous portion and very tasty. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken fajitas as well. Here's my litmus test: a good number of the patrons were other Mexicans!
Pros: Good Food Selection, Great Value, Mexican Ambiance
Cons: Unimpressive Exterior, Un-"familiar" Menu
