Don Giovanni is a Napa institution. Locals give you respect if you tell them you will dine there. The food is not flashy but it is good, decent, flavorful, hearty, and reliable -- not ""impress your date"" fare so much as real, heartful, cuisine in a celebretory but not over the top atmosphere. It is northern Italian with provincial French influence. The lamb shank was melt in your mouth delicious and the bacon and mushroom pizza was one of the best I ever had. Prices are moderate. We enjoyed it so much we went back two nights in a row.
