I left Nashville 10 years ago, but every time I'm at Calypso, I'm transported back to my Vandy days. The flavors are simultaneously exotic and comforting; home cooking from a part of the world that I've never visited. I'm vegetarian now, but I'd have a hard time resisting the barbequed chicken salad, although it's actually the combination of the sauce, sour cream and black beans that I miss).
