This is one of my favorite places to be in Chicago. Not only are the special exhibitions thoughtfully assembled, but the permanent collection is amazing. I especially love looking at the ancient art and artifacts and seeing where concepts of design were first developed. It's a very peaceful atmosphere, though many of the special exhibitions can be uncomfortably crowded, especially on weekends.
