I've been to the Black Cow several times now. Each time, I've come away thinking, ""Not bad, but..."" The Black Cow is a work in progress--both culinarily and service-wise. This restaurant serves up stick-to-your-ribs comfort food like roasted chicken, tri-tip beef, mashed potatoes, and corn pudding. It does most things mostly correctly, but needs to work on overall execution. Having said that, I don't want people to avoid the Black Cow. It's a fine place for a casual but still nice dinner. Stick to the classics, don't fill up on the bread, and you'll do just fine.
