Whether you're a fan of the Bard of Avon or not is irrelevant. The Public Theater's annual outdoor festival--which isn't always Shakespeare by the way--provides some of the loveliest summertime entertainment in town. Teenage girls may swoon for Billy Crudup (""Measure for Measure""), Homicide"" die-hards may clamor for Andre Braugher (""Henry V""), and Trekkies may beam up for Patrick Stewart (""The Tempest"") but in the end, under the star-lit sky, everyone gains an appreciation for the greatest dramatist of the English-speaking world and the greatest city on the planet. Impossible but true: It's free.
