I grew up a few blocks away Sawatdy Thai, and it was the first Thai food I ever ate. Imagine my disappointment when I realized that not all Thai food is this fantastic.
Guests from Indonesia say it's the best Thai they've had in America. Friends from the Eastside have no problem with the one hour trip (the ferry ride is gorgeous, too!). It's a hub of Island life, and once you have your first bite, you'll know why.
With 60 menu items, there is something for everyone -- from carnivores to vegans. The service is impeccable, especially Quin, the owner, who has a photographic memory and will remember you and what you ordered...even two years later!
It's funny to find such ambience in an isolated strip mall, but the Tran family has redefined the meaning of excellent Thai food. Worth the trip the the Island! You will love it.
