i love the food here. the sweet/spicey red mole sauce is the surprise of the year for me.
i'm familiar with the black moles of ""traditional"" mexican food and was surprised with the twist that this southern mexican joint puts on it. the closest thing i can compare it to is jerk spice of jamaican fare, but with a south of the border inflection.
don't go expecting burritos and tacos. you'll have to like at least chicken to eat anything of substance here as they specialize in all things meat. the chicken in red mole is excellent. order their version of horchata or their version of orange juice. very tasty all around and quite surprising.
