The Field Museum rocks--it is physically huge and packs an infotainment wallop. Sue, while impressive herself, is made even more interesting with a behind-the-scenes exhibit of facts, theories and restoration tidbits upstairs. You can literally get lost in a seemingly endless maze of display cases featuring almost thousands of animals (my boyfriend loved that the Field Museum has the lions that inspired the movie ""The Ghost and the Darkness""). The museum's vast permanent collection spans the globe, from Asia to Africa and the Americas. My advice would be to get there early and plan to eat lunch at the museum (there's a McDonald's and a Corner Bakery), so you can have as much viewing time as possible. I don't know if you could see and do everything in the Field Museum if you went every day for a week--but that means it is always interesting.
