This is the best Japanese in all of Los Angeles, or at least of all those that we've been to, and that's a lot. Every time someone says ""we've got to try"" a certain Japanese restaurant, we come away saying ""that was good, but not as good as Asanebo."" Originally, it was a sashimi bar and restaurant with no sushi, but after a few years of people walking out when they find out its not a sushi bar, they now have sushi as well as sashimi. But don't miss their other dishes, including seared tuna (much better than any other I've had at other restaurants), sauteed mushrooms and asparagus, baby abalone, etc. Wonderful!
