one of the few remaining yorkville establishments, schaller and weber has been around for most of this century. it's one of the only places to get authentic german candies (like asbach uralt--wickedly delicious brandy-filled chocolates!) and other traditional fare. shopping there is an experience itself, a little trip back to old new york, which is sadly becoming more and more rare. i highly recommend a visit.
