My boyfriend and I go to Sushi Sake almost once a week. Everybody that works there befriend us. For better sushi, keep this few tips in mind:
1. Fresh Fishes get delivered every Tue and Thur. Thur selection is usually better.
2. Basic rolls like California roll are not made by Sushi Chefs. They are either pre-made or by people from the kitchen.
3. Most of the sushi chefs are not well trained. I can only think of 5 that can pass my standard. They usually work Thr, Fri, and Sat.
4. Sushi Bar is your best bet.
