Vive Sol Restaurant is a surprise as it is rather hidden. It is on El Camino but it is set back off the street. When you walk in you realize that this is not like many Mexican Restaurants that you have been in before. It is elegant and yet causal, rustic and beautiful. The down side of the restaurant, is that it is one big room and this can be a problem when there are a lot of guests and you are trying to have a conversation. This is not an inexpensive restaurant either but it is worth the price.
After you have been seated, you will be given 3 different salsas with your chips. I vote for the Verde Salsa every time....a lot of flavor and not as hot as the other two.
The next thing that you might want to check are their margaritas....They have every conceivable tequila, although I still stick with the Cuevo Gold. I usually vote for the House Margarita.
The appetizers and entree are wonderful but I would recommend the Black Beans and anything with the Guillo Sauce (I could be spelling that incorrectly)
