Eddie's Place Brings Light to African Culture 8/16/2005

You would normally see plenty and plenty of food stores with food from America, Latin America, and Asian countries. But once stepping into Eddie's place on 167 St in the Bronx, you get a chance to feel a hint of Africa. The owners happen to be great relatives of mines, but even if they were strangers, I would still visit there every chance I could get to shop for African goods. What amazed me about Eddie's place was the way that they aren't like many other African stores you would normally see in America. The stock up many genres of African movies, sell different music and beauty products from Ghana, and even have their own bucher section that carries MANY different sorts of meats. Even on my first visit there was one of my most memorable times spending in New York because of all the great things I've heard about it. more
