Pearle is another place to consider for eyeglasses. They are pretty similar to Lenscrafters, but there are differences. I've walked out of Pearle several times because I stood there for ten or more minutes waiting for help and no one came.
They usually have deals and discounts available and the prices are in line with those of other stores. The last pair of glasses that I bought were from there. I have a very high prescription but wanted rimless glasses. Lenscrafters wouldn't do it for me, but Pearle would. Although the glasses are a little thick, I was warned about this before and they came out great.
I would recommend this store when you are shopping around for eye glasses. I would definitely visit some others and be sure to know what you want.
Finally, ask about special deals. I got a large percentage discount (on the lines of 20-30%) just because I was a member of AAA.
