I also came in hoping to spend an outrageous amount of money on a party cake. I lived in France and I know pastries. (Le Gâteau is so overpriced.) I was also rudely told that they only had tastings for wedding cakes. I suggest they change that policy and hire a new counter staff. I have not returned since. I just placed an order for a huge whipped cream (which was real. They graciously offered a taste!!) and custard cake at Alpine bakery. Their ingredients are high quality and so is their staff. They could not have been kinder nor the costs more reasonable. They are my new bakery.
