I went on a Labor and Delivery tour at Advocate Luthern back in April. I was very excited to go because I had heard good thing about the Children's Hospital and being a large hospital with a lot of money, I thought they would have a welcoming labor and delivery ward. Well, we got there and there were only two elevators working. We had to wait 10 minutes for one. So, we were late for the tour. I walked in and felt like I was in a mental institution. The delivery ward is very institutional feeling. Not homey like you want your delivery place to be. The LDR rooms were big, but the Mom and baby rooms were very small. The staff wasn't all that welcoming. I left feeling very disappointed and I couldn't wait to go on my next tour.
