Our beloved dog, Rascle, passed away from heart failure a few weeks ago. He was 13 years old, a small dog with a big presence, weighing 17 pounds. Rascle had been a patient at Douglasville Veterinary Clinic for his entire life, located at 6220 Fairburn Rd, Douglasville, GA 30134. He died in my wife's arms, and his passing left us heartbroken. The next morning, I took him to the vet for cremation. It was a Saturday, and I was thankful they were open. However, my experience with the clinic that day was distressing. The receptionist I spoke with was callous and insensitive during a difficult time. Douglasville Veterinary Clinic, now led by Dr. Michelle Haynes, Dr. Rachel Morgan, and Dr. Wendee McGuffee, quoted a cremation price of $349.25, shockingly high compared to the Georgia average of around $190 for a private cremation. Despite being loyal clients for over thirteen years and having numerous pets cared for at this clinic, we felt taken advantage of during our time of grief. It's time for us to find a new vet. I waited a month to write this review to ensure it was fair and not driven solely by emotion. more
